A beautifully made gothic brass cartel wall by the famous maker Samuel Marti. It features a pair of panthers climbing up each side of the clock, holding a flaming torché in their mouths. This is an earlier clock, heavily modelled and well finished. The movement has the earlier 'Medaille de Bronze' mark awarded in 1860.
