Super Oil on canvas of a grey horse by an open stable set amid rolling English countryside, the farmhouse in the distance.  Condition is excellent with no repairs, some speckles of dirt do not detract from display.  Frame was replaced sometime ago and you may wish to re-frame more appropriately, but painting is ready to hang.  A journeyman painting, no signature, English School, from the second half of the 19th century.  Written on the original stretcher is the name of the horse "Captain" and the owners details.  This is also written in chalk on the canvas at the back.  A gorgeous equestrian painting to add to your collection.
