PONY and TERRIER

This is a super painting, oil on canvas, just full of character.  A pony or small horse, saddled up and ready to ride, tethered at a five bar gate, and his companion scruffy little terrier sits patiently.  Both have the happiest faces, (see the close up pic of the dog, guaranteed to make you smile!) painted with great skill, and the whole, quite large painting, is subtly executed, with beautiful colour and nice details.....see the foxgloves.  Condition is excellent, clean and bright, craqueleur commensurate with age.  The frame is probably original and certainly 19th century, in fair condition but a little shabby.  Some small loss of gilt, some minor loss to the moulding.  Could repair or re-frame, or hang as is for that authentic English Country House look!  A very nice, decorative painting and super addition to your collection.
