Highland Cattle in Ballachulish

From the collection of a local Gentleman, a super oil on board of Ballachulish near Glencoe, with highland cattle taking a drink in the evening light, the mist rolling around the mountainous landscape in the distance. Painted in the impressionist style by Henry Hadfield Cubley - an artist well known to us and listed on the Artprice website. Signed in the bottom right hand corner of the picture - see close up below.

Condition is very good, the painting is bright and clean - there is one small area (about 1/4" square) of in-painting on the mounting and a some very minor paint flaking. The painting is inscribed on the rear of the board "near Ballachulish" together with the artists signature. The picture dates from around 1913  The frame is probably original - it is in good condition.
